Upgrades To The Points Jet Setter Site & Give Aways Coming!

Wow, what a crazy last week it has been here at the Points Jet Setter! I wanted to make everyone aware of some of the changes to the site and the exciting new promotions I am going to be running in the coming weeks though.

Changes 2

First off, I want to apologize for the lack of posts over the past week or so. I am a one man operation here and I personally handle everything from the tech side to the research for the posts. You may not believe it, but it actually does take a ton of time to run a site like this (especially if you are just learning how to code like me). But I am passionate about the points and miles game, so it has actually be somewhat fun to keep this work in progress traveling (ha!) in the right direction.

Site traffic has grown exponentially faster than I ever could have imagined and I have been working hard over the last week to completely transform and streamline the website experience. I am pretty sure the only person who has religiously followed my blog from the start was my mom (hi mom!), so she is probably the only one who can tell you just how far this site has come since it was launched about 7 months ago. Needless to say though, it has come a long way!

For those who have frequented the site over the past few months, you will notice that I have revised the header to include the TPJS logo and have brought all of the menu items onto the same platform so they maintain their consistency across the pages.

The menus have also been substantially revised to make the most popular information easily accessible. The one I am most excited about is the Award Travel 101 menu tab. The Award Travel 101 page is designed for those that are new to the points and miles game and will act as a central hub to easily access all of my Award Tickets 101 & Award Tickets 202 posts, as well as my Points & Miles Beginner’s Guide and how to guides.

Additionally, I have revised my Award Consulting Service page to include an easy to use contact form at the bottom of the page. Should you be interested in getting a quote or retaining TPJS for your award travel earning/booking needs, simply fill out and submit the form at the bottom of the page with the required information.

I have also created an entirely separate Trip Reports page which provides links to all of the airline, hotel and lounge reviews that I have done. The airline reviews are broken down by airline and class of service; the hotel reviews are broken down by hotel brand; and the lounge reviews are broken down by country. This should help make navigating the reviews to find your desired review much easier!

Lastly, I have added a separate Contact page which contains a fillable form for those that want to reach out to me with questions, comments or concerns. You will not be added to any type of spam list and your e-mail address will of course not be sold to any third-parties.

Give Away Promotions Coming Soon!

One thing that I am really excited to start doing this summer is give away promotions. Every few weeks I will be giving away things like lounge passes and free consulting services! I have not quite completely figured out the entry process, but I will be working hard on that this week so I can launch the first give away in the next week or two. Make sure to keep your eyes open for the give away announcements!

Final Thoughts

I am really excited about the changes here at TPJS and hope that you, the readers, like them as well! I sincerely appreciate all of the encouragement and kind words about the site over the last several months. I realize there have been some bumps in the road, but I am working hard to make TPJS one of the premier places for all of your award travel earning and burning needs!

What are your thoughts on the new layout?

  1. Too bad you have to reinvent so much of the wheel. Don’t you bloggers have a union hall or somewhere to go for skilled trades questions?

    1. There are some great WordPress forum and Reddit resources out there for blogging and page creation. My issue was more so that the site originally started as a static PHP site. When the tech guy I originally hired to build out the site couldn’t keep up with getting the blog posts up and making the changes I wanted to make, I had to look elsewhere. Once I found WordPress, it took some time for me to get everything transitioned over and the CSS code changed so it looked right (my background is not tech in case that wasn’t glaringly obvious, ha). Everything seems to be on the right track now though so I can go back to focusing on getting the content out.
