Taking Advantage Of American Express, Citi & Bank of America Offers

Did you know that American Express, Citi and Bank of America all offer special cash back or points earning opportunities to cardholders for free?

As anyone who reads my blog knows, I am a big fan of saving money and earning additional points where I can. American Express, Citi and Bank of America all offer cardholders opportunities to do both for simply adding special cash back and/or points earning opportunities to your cards! After the offer has been added to your card, all you have to do is use that card to make the necessary purchase(s). There are no extra steps and your cash back or points will be deposited to your account at the end of your current month statement in most cases.

American Express

American Express was the first credit card company that I noticed started to do these offers. In my experience, they have the widest variety of offers on products and they seem to change the offers or add new offers on a fairly regularly basis. For that reason, I tend to check my Amex offers at least once a week to see if there is anything worthwhile for me to add to any of my cards.

The process to finding these offers is quite simple. All you do is log on to your online account, select your card, and then scroll to the bottom of the home page for that particular card to find your offers.

Amex 1

When you find an offer you like, simply click the “Add to Card” button to add the offer to your card. After you have done so you will receive a message that the offer has been added to your card.

Amex 2

If you want to see which offers have already been added to any given card, simply click on the “Added to Card” button in the upper right hand corner of the Amex Offers section of the card’s homepage.

Amex 3

That will provide you with a list of all the offers your particular card is already enrolled in.

Amex 5

Remember that the offers can and will vary from card to card, so make sure you are checking out the offers associated with all of your Amex cards regularly!

Citi

Citi also provides offers and deals to cardholders, though they tend to limit these to their more premium cards and the offers do not tend to be as good as those for Amex or Bank of America.

To access your Citi deals, simply log in to your Citi online account and scroll to the bottom of the homepage after logging in. There you will see a box that says “Get the Most From Your Cards.”

Citi 1

From there you will want to click on the “View More Offers” link on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. This will take you to your offers screen.

Citi 2

To add an offer to your card, simply click on the “Add Offer” button. Once you have done so, you will receive a confirmation that the offer has been added and the offer details.

Citi 4

To see which offers you have already added to your card, simply scan the page which will show already added offers.

Citi also provides different offers for different cards, so make sure you select each of your cards from the drop down menu to see what offers are available!

Bank of America

Bank of America in my experience tends to offer more useful cash back offers. Bank of America’s offers do tend to change and have new offers on a pretty regularly basis, so I recommend checking in at least once a week to see if there is anything new.

To access your Bank of America offers, simply log in to your online account. From the accounts homepage, look to the Activity Center on the right hand side of the screen. From there you will want to click on the “Special Offers & Deals” button.

BoA 1

After clicking on the “Special Offers & Deals” button, you will receive a drop down menu where you want to click on the “View all your deals” button.

BoA 2

That will take you to your deals homepage where you can see all of the offers available on your cards.

BoA 3

To add a deal to your card, simply click the “Add this deal” button. After you do so, you will receive a confirmation screen letting you know that the deal has been added to your card.

BoA 4

To see which offers you have already added to your card, simply scan the page which will show already added offers.

Final Thoughts

I check the offers associated with my credit cards for all 3 of these banks every few days to see what new offers have popped up. On the whole, I have found that these offers are not going to save you thousands of dollars, but they can save you a few dollars here and there which does add up. Not to mention you will be saving money (or earning additional points) for simply clicking to add a deal to your card and spending using that card!
