After arriving in Lima, we grabbed a car to the hotel – the Hilton Lima Miraflores. Even at midnight, the traffic was still bumper to bumper. On the way to the hotel we encountered one of the worst traffic accidents I have ever seen – a head on collision that left the cars looking like two crushed tin cans. Our driver told us that unfortunately that was a common sight on Lima roads.

We arrived at the Hilton a little after 1:00 AM, but even at night the hotel looked spectacular.
I opted to redeem some of the stockpile of HHonors points I had accrued at that point for the room for the two nights we were there. Paid room rates were running ~$210 per night, but I was able to redeem 100,000 HHonors points for our two night stay. Now that is not the greatest redemption rate savings, but I had nearly a million HHonors points at the time, so it was not really a big deal.
The entryway to the hotel features a very cool chandelier and the lobby overall had a very trendy and retro feel to it.
I am a Hilton HHonors Gold thanks to my American Express Hilton HHonors Surpass card which comes with complimentary HHonors Gold status just for being a cardholder. My status with the chain was acknowledged at check-in and we were offered complimentary bottles of water. Unfortunately, no room upgrade was offered, but that was not a big deal to me as all I wanted to do was go to sleep at the time.
The room was very spacious and modern and had a great overall design and layout.
The king sized bed was extremely comfortable and exactly what I needed after a long day of travel.
The back corner of the room featured a very spacious desk that overlooked the city.
The room also featured a coffee maker and mini bar. The coffee was Café Britt and was exceptionally good.
The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous and was easily one of the nicest I have had while staying at a Hilton property.
If these are what the standard rooms look like, I can only imagine how nice the suites at this property must be!
We opted not to take part in the complimentary hotel breakfast as we wanted to explore the area and eat somewhere local, but it looked like they had your standard hotel spread. Instead we went out to one of the best cevicheria’s I have ever been to and ordered whatever sounded interesting. This was the result…
After two days at the Hilton Lima Miraflores, it was time to grab a car back to the airport to catch our flight to Cusco!
With a great location, an excellent room and friendly staff, the Hilton Lima Miraflores is easily one of the better Hilton hotels I have stayed at throughout the world. If you are planning a trip down to Lima, I would highly recommend looking into this hotel as its location and amenities are hard to beat.
