Flying To Japan On JAL? Get Free Wi-Fi!

Are you flying to Japan on a Japan Airlines (JAL) flight? If so, you need to check out this free Wi-Fi offer from JAL!

JAL now has a program where those who are traveling to Japan on JAL flights can receive free Wi-Fi to be used throughout the country during their stay!

JL 1

The Wi-Fi is good for 2 weeks from the date you activate it (i.e., when you first login) and is good throughout the country.

JL 2

Although the use is limited to 2 weeks, I would imagine that the average traveler to Japan does not stay for more than 2 weeks. Besides, 2 free weeks of Wi-Fi is nothing to shake your head at!

The offer is limited to “foreign tourists visiting Japan only,” so if you are using JAL miles and have a planned stopover in Japan, it does not appear that you would be eligible.

JL 3

The instructions for how to apply are clearly laid out on JAL’s website for the offer.

The terms and conditions do not seem to differentiate between paid tickets and award tickets, so it does appear that even those on award tickets are eligible for this perk! You will need your JAL specific PNR (Passenger Name Record) locator for the flight though to log in through the JAL website. You can retrieve this from your booking airline (i.e., if you booked your flight using American AAdvantage miles, you would just need to call/Tweet AA to receive your JAL specific PNR).

Final Thoughts

I think this is a really cool offer from Japan Airlines and I wish I would have known about this during my last trip to Japan. Although it is unclear if this would apply to an award ticket booking, the terms and conditions do not seem to indicate that this applies to paid tickets only. If that is the case, this is yet another reason to fly JAL’s fantastic product to Japan!
